Drills will be done in high tempo fashion with game-like situations in mind. Participants will be put through intense drills for power skating, passing and shooting. This is also a conditioning camp. Additionally, some dry land training will be covered.

Each day participants will go through 90 minutes of drills to work on different aspects of their game. Topics covered will be Power Skating, Stickhandling, Shooting and Passing. There will also be a 45 minute controlled scrimmage daily which will allow kids to put their hard work to use in a game. The best way for most kids to learn and love the game of hockey is by dropping the puck and letting them play.

Matt has played ice and roller hockey for 35 years as well as coached both for the last 20 years. He played Division I college hockey at the University of Alaska Fairbanks prior to playing professionally in Europe for several years. Additionally, Matt has been the Director of Hockey Operations at the Fieldhouse for the past 10 years and serves as the head coach for the Tour Bordercats Pro roller hockey team.
Required Equipment: Full inline hockey gear along with athletic shoes for off-floor activities.

This camp is for beginner and intermediate players that strive to get to the next level. When needed, players will be split up by talent level, although all the kids will be learning the same fundamentals. Participants will be put through a series of drills that work on proper skating technique including forwards, backwards, cross-overs, and pivots, as well as passing and shooting. We will also cover some dry land training activities that the new player can useto help them with their hockey game.

AAU Adidas Girls Basketball Camp

This elite basketball camp is designed specifically for girls who would like to improve their skills in preparation for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. Players will work on dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding and team play. Offensive and defensive strategies will also be taught. The head coach for this camp is Loren Ristovski, seven-year European professional player, 14-year High School Varsity coach and current Athletic Director at Taylor Public Schools.

The 17th annual Fieldhouse Classic Basketball Camp welcomes boys and girls of all skill levels for a week of fun & fundamentals. Instruction will focus on specific skill building stations where team play, passing, defense, rebounding and shooting will be taught. Campers will also participate in free throw and three-point challenges along with daily scrimmages.

In this fifth year specialty camp, players will learn everything from the correct technique of shooting the basketball to the finer aspects of dribbling and passing. Learn proper shooting form, including how to hold the ball and the essentials of balance and body position. Then use these drills to put that knowledge into action! From fun to intense, these “offensive” basketball drills are intended for both intermediate and advanced players.

Fieldhouse Volleyball Camp

Players will take part in drills designed to teach the fundamentals of volleyball. Skills will include bumping, serving, setting, spiking, and position placement. Conditioning will also be covered to aid in the individual development of the camper. This camp is perfect for beginners along with those looking to sharpen their skills for the upcoming season. Joe Dumars’ Fieldhouse and the Michigan AAU are teaming up to bring you the 14th annual AAU Volleyball Camp. Designed for the intermediate to advanced player, this camp is a perfect follow-up to the Fieldhouse Volleyball camp. Not only will players work on individual fundamentals, but also fitness training and stretches that will increase personal strength and vertical leap. Team strategies including serving, passing/offense concepts, setting and the attack will also be a focus for this camp. The head coach for this camp will be Terri Frabotta.

Fore! This camp will help young players gain the fundamentals necessary to enjoy the great game of golf. Grooving a fundamentally sound swing will be a major focus of the week. Participants will also be introduced to a variety of shots including bunker play. While drills will be the core focus of the week, games, contests and even a mini-golf tournament will insure fun is had by all. This camp will be conducted indoors and outdoors at the Fieldhouse.
