Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse has become the region's most exciting venue for events of all sizes. This year alone, the Fieldhouse played host to over 900 parties including a sports association family fun day for 2,000 people, company picnics for as many as 1,200 attendees, corporate holiday parties for 500, fieldtrips for 200 students, teambuilding groups of 160, youth sports team parties for 40 and, of course birthday parties for as few as 10.

Fieldhouse Event Facilities

The Fieldhouse philosophy is that a great event can only be the result of a combination of great facility and great customer service. What follows is a brief description of the first half of this equation; physical amenities.

Unique Entertainment

The Bayou Adventure inside Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse contains 8 interactive attractions in a dramatic themed venue including a climbing wall, a lazertag arena, a bungee trampoline, a high ropes course, an inflatable slide, a slot car track and a miniature 18 hole golf course. Sports Activities and Related Open Spaces

The Fieldhouse contains over 100,000 square feet of first class athletic amenities including:

• 9 5x5 and 4 4x4 hardwood basketball courts in two unique locations, all equipped with glass backboards, breakaway rims, painted keys and scoreboards;
• 2 full sized roller hockey arenas with sport court tile, full scoreboards, and 8 changing rooms; and
• 5 indoor hardcourt volleyball courts and 3 outdoor lit sandcourt volleyball courts.

These courts and rinks not only lend themselves to events for additional sports entertainment and programming, they also provide dramatic open spaces for seating, presentations, tradeshows and creative activities such as dodgeball or radio controlled vehicle racing (to name just a few).

Restaurant, Bar & Catering Facilities

Inside Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse is the Joe's Southern Grill. This 10,000 square foot restaurant is beautifully designed (for example, all of the tabletops and bartops are made out of the 1998/1999 Pistons Championship Floor and the space is positioned to look out over all of the activity areas) and well equipped to handle parties of all shapes and sizes (there are 3 event rooms of different sizes, 2 large mezzanine areas, 8 lockable storage closets for guests to put their personal items, and a 2,000 square foot fully updated kitchen capable of producing a wide range of food options efficiently). There is also an outdoor bar and patio area with its own service kitchen to allow us to service outdoor events effectively. While Joe's Sourthern Grill has the capacity and experience to meet the needs of our clients, we also recognize that sometimes there is a relationship between a group and a particular caterer that requires an accommodation to allow for such services..

Fieldhouse Event Staff

The Fieldhouse has a dedicated staff of Event Directors dedicated to insure that all of our event patrons expectations are exceeded. We recognize that one of the keys to a successful event is communicating clearly with our clients so that they can relax and enjoy the occasion themselves because they know that all of the details necessary to maximize the experience for their guests have been attended to.
